Sharing X audience findings with a colleague: questions answered

Hand over the research question, source account, collection date, coverage and qualified findings—not just a headline percentage. Revealed includes raw CSV export on Free, but a summary may be enough for the decision. Distinguish profile observations from your interpretation and explain what the evidence cannot establish.

The answer in full

An audience research handoff should make the findings understandable without requiring a colleague to repeat your assumptions. Start with the decision being supported, source account, collection date and known collection coverage. Describe what the collected profiles showed, then label your interpretation separately. A recurring role description may support a relevance hypothesis, but it does not verify credentials or forecast campaign response. Revealed includes raw CSV export on Free when profile-level review is needed; exporting creates a copy whose destination and subsequent sharing are under your control. Do not assume local processing makes an emailed or uploaded export local too. A qualified summary can often communicate the evidence with less profile detail. Include missing information and unresolved cases so the next reader does not mistake them for negative findings. The questions below help choose the right handoff for the task, preserve uncertainty and make clear which decisions require additional evidence. The outcome is a reviewable research note, not a guaranteed recommendation or a verified demographic report.

What needs to accompany a headline finding?

Include the research question, source collection, date and reference population. For a percentage, say what the denominator represents and how missing evidence was handled.

A headline without those details can invite a broader interpretation than the data supports.

Should I send a CSV or a summary?

Use a summary when the recipient needs the conclusion and its limitations. A CSV is useful when they need to review underlying collected profiles; Revealed includes raw CSV export on Free.

Do not promise that every derived analysis appears in the raw export. Choose the material that supports the actual review task.

Does an exported file keep the same privacy boundary?

Audience processing is local, but a downloaded file is a separate copy. Emailing it, uploading it or putting it in a shared folder changes who may receive the data.

Keep the recipient and purpose clear, and avoid distributing unnecessary profile detail when a summary will answer the question.

How should uncertainty be written?

Separate an observation, such as bios mentioning a subject, from a hypothesis about audience relevance. Keep ambiguous descriptions and missing fields visible.

End the note with what needs validation. Customer identity, engagement and campaign outcomes are not established by profile descriptions.

What to keep in mind

  • Exports are user-controlled copies and may be shared outside the browser.
  • A raw CSV is not a promise of every derived analysis field.
  • Summaries still need context, coverage and interpretation boundaries.
FAQ

Common questions

01Is raw CSV export a Pro-only capability?

No. Revealed includes raw CSV export on Free.

02Can a handoff omit uncertain profiles?

You can omit unnecessary profile detail, but describe unresolved evidence so the summary does not overstate certainty.

03Does Revealed upload the followers I scan?

No. Scans run in your own browser and the audience data (profiles, bios, analytics and exports) stays in Chrome extension storage on your device. Revealed’s servers only handle your account, plan and billing.

04Can scanning with Revealed get my X account suspended?

It's possible. Revealed reads follower lists through your own signed-in X account, and X restricts automated access to its service. X can challenge, restrict or suspend accounts it believes are automated, including linked accounts. Revealed only reads data and paces scans to reduce the risk, but it can't control X's decisions. Keep scans modest, stop if X shows you a challenge, and avoid scanning from a business or client account.
