Free X (Twitter) followers exporters compared: limits, fields, privacy and formats

Several tools export X followers for free, but their caps and output differ. Compare the per-download limit, fields, file format, browser and privacy policy before choosing. This dated comparison separates published vendor claims from our check of Revealed's release package; an unlimited offer does not guarantee a complete list or protection from X restrictions.

What “free” really means for follower exporters

There are several ways to export followers from X (formerly Twitter), and their free offers answer different needs. XPorter and XTract describe uncapped exports. XExporter lists 300 records per free download. PlugMonkey's X Followers Exporter Pro lists a weekly allowance as well as a per-download cap. A free sample can be enough to inspect columns, but not necessarily enough for your research question.

An uncapped product is still subject to X access, rate controls and whatever data the tool can collect. Do not translate unlimited into every follower returned, instant completion or guaranteed account safety. XPorter's README also describes a configurable quantity setting: default 500, with 0 meaning unlimited. That setting is different from a paid limit, and we did not verify its default in an installed Store build.

Circleboom is included as a hosted alternative, rather than presented as a free local exporter. Its documented workflow consumes tokens. Before paying for any tool, check the current terms and whether its limit means records per file, records per run, downloads per week or account size. These units are not interchangeable.

Free X followers exporters compared

This table includes tools for which we could confirm primary product, store or repository evidence. It is not ranked. Revealed publishes this guide and is included as one option. Every cell points to its source; the notes below distinguish source statements from code inspection.

Read the source differences before choosing

XTract's product page says fourteen fields, while its Store text says thirteen-plus. We list the kinds of fields rather than choose one total. The Store also qualifies its current free offer and declares website content as handled data. Those statements should be read alongside its local-processing description, not turned into a claim that it is unsafe. [S2] [S2W]

Twitter Exporter by rxliuli is the product linked from its own site to a Firefox listing by rxliuli. The vendor plan page limits the free offer to CSV; the Firefox listing also mentions JSON. We have not assumed every advertised format is part of the free tier. PlugMonkey has a similar distinction: the listing describes JSON and clipboard features, while its Free section specifically names CSV. [S4] [S4F] [S5]

TwFollow, X/Twitter Scraper and Roostbox appeared during research. We could not consistently re-open their primary listings or establish a current free allowance, so we have left them out of the table. An unavailable research page is not proof that a product is unsafe or permanently withdrawn. Check a current primary listing before relying on an older comparison.

What a follower export contains

A useful export is a table of collected accounts. Typical published field lists include handle, display name, bio, location, website, account counts, verification and creation date. Some include a numeric account ID and image or banner links. Read the actual header row rather than assume every exporter supplies the same information. [S1] [S2] [S6]

IDs are useful when joining snapshots because a handle can change. Import long IDs as text in your spreadsheet to avoid numeric rounding. A creation date can support a review of account history, but a group of new accounts does not itself prove fraud. Fields such as verified, protected or can-message describe returned metadata, not permission to contact someone.

In Revealed 0.11.4, the profile CSV serializer has 31 headers: URL, Username, Name, UID, Email, Following Count, Followers Count, Listed Count, Posts Count, Bio, Favorites Count, Media Count, Location, Website, Bio URLs, Professional Category, Professional Type, Affiliation, Verification, Verification Type, Verified, Blue Verified, Protected, Can DM, Default Profile Image, Profile Banner URL, Pinned Post ID, Possibly Sensitive, Created At, Niche and Niche Confidence. Values can be blank when X does not supply them. [S0]

The Email column extracts an email-shaped string only if it is already written in a collected public bio. It does not reveal a private X login email or perform email enrichment. Niche and confidence are locally derived labels, not fields verified by X. This list comes from the released serializer; we did not claim a live export from a newly scanned account. [S0]

Caps, pacing and incomplete lists

A smaller file can result from the product cap, incomplete collection, an interruption or what X makes available. Distinguish a 250-row free cap from a 250-row partial scan of a larger list. For the Firefox Twitter Follower Exporter by Justin, the listing explicitly instructs you to scroll and says it can only export loaded entries. That collection method is different from a tool that paginates requests. [S7]

XTract describes deliberate request pacing and retry behaviour, but its website also contains a promotional speed claim that conflicts with its longer operational timing explanation. We have not reproduced a speed benchmark. A useful comparison asks whether you can save partial results, pause or resume, and identify collection status instead of promising a number of accounts per minute. [S2]

Revealed supports pause, resume, stop and stored progress; its released scan controls also handle interruptions and cooldowns. These features do not bypass X limits or guarantee a full audience. Record the handle, date, list direction, received count and completion status with every file. Two snapshots with different coverage are not reliable evidence of follower growth. [S0]

Where does your data go?

A privacy claim on a listing is a claim, not a test. Several checked publishers describe local processing. Read their detailed policies for account access, diagnostics, retention and integrations too. XPorter's current policy, for example, distinguishes local exported content from diagnostics sent through uninstall feedback; the broad statement no servers would miss that distinction. [S1P]

XExporter describes local data processing, while its Store disclosure lists personal information as handled data. That is a disclosure difference to examine, not an accusation. Circleboom describes a hosted web workflow using its API access; read its policy if server-side processing matters to your research. [S3W] [S8]

For any tool, use the extension safety checklist to compare access, policy and a bounded network test. A logged-in X session is still authenticated access, even when you do not create another vendor account. Exported files may also enter cloud storage through your chosen download folder or spreadsheet service. Decide where the data can go before collecting a client audience.

Excel, CSV and JSON: choose the output you need

CSV is a text table you can import into Excel or Google Sheets; you do not need a native XLSX export just to filter profiles in a spreadsheet. XPorter and XExporter list XLSX support. XTract lists both CSV and JSON. Revealed's profile export is CSV in the reviewed release. Confirm the current plan when a tool advertises several formats. [S1] [S3] [S2] [S0]

In Excel, use Data → From Text/CSV, confirm the delimiter and UTF-8 encoding, and preserve account IDs as text. In Google Sheets, use File → Import → Upload and choose the appropriate separator. Inspect the header and a few rows before sorting. Saving a workbook as XLSX after import is different from the extension generating XLSX itself.

For the full collection and spreadsheet handoff, use the CSV export guide. Keep an untouched original and a separate working copy. When transferring rows to a CRM, map only columns you need and check the destination's import rules. A public profile or bio email is not evidence of consent for bulk outreach.

Chrome and Firefox: check the actual listing

The Chrome tools in this table have Chrome product or Store evidence. Revealed's public release is a Chrome extension; we have not verified Firefox support. For Firefox, the checked options include Twitter Exporter by rxliuli and Twitter Follower Exporter by Justin. Their free limits and methods differ, so browser availability alone does not make them interchangeable. [S0] [S4F] [S7]

rxliuli's product page also links to an Edge listing. We have not tested installation or export in Edge, Brave, mobile or other browsers for every product. Follow the relevant vendor's browser listing rather than assume all Chrome extensions work everywhere. Similar exporter names make publisher identity especially important. [S4]

Where Revealed fits, and where it does not

Revealed fits when you want to inspect an accessible X follower or following list locally, search the collected profiles and export CSV on Free, then optionally add audience analysis on Pro. The public 0.11.4 package confirms both list directions. Choose followers for who follows an account, and following for who it follows. [S0]

It is not the documented choice here for Firefox, a native XLSX or JSON profile file, an official hosted follower API or scheduled reporting. It does not provide a verified-only collection mode in the reviewed scan controls, although collected profiles contain verification fields you can filter. Manual snapshot comparison is not a live unfollower tracker. For deeper analysis, read the follower analytics guide; for plan details, check current plans.

No Revealed account is needed for Free. Account pairing and Pro services communicate online; optional assistant summaries and user-chosen exports create separate sharing decisions. The privacy-first guide explains those boundaries. We have inspected the public package but have not independently audited ourselves. [S0]

How to choose an exporter

Write down your required list direction, approximate collection size, essential columns and destination format. Use the table to eliminate tools that do not document those requirements. Check the cap's unit, the current publisher and listing, the session requirements and the privacy policy. Try a small file and inspect its headers before committing to a larger run.

Choose CSV for an ordinary spreadsheet workflow, JSON when your pipeline requires it, or XLSX when you specifically need that format generated by the extension. If Firefox is essential, start with a verified Firefox listing. If the job is scheduled account reporting, evaluate a reporting service instead of expecting a one-off exporter to provide it.

X rules and account restrictions

X's automation rules address non-API automation and enforcement. An exporter advertising pacing or retries has not established approval from X or immunity from restrictions. Read X's current rules and the tool's guidance before automated collection. We do not recommend bypassing access controls or creating accounts to evade restrictions.

The official X account archive is a separate way to obtain your own account information. It is not equivalent to a current, profile-rich export of another account's followers. We have not repeated third-party API prices or an unsourced claim about every native download option. Use the evidence for the exact workflow you need.

How we checked this comparison

Last checked: 9 October 2026. We reopened primary product pages, Store listings, the rxliuli-linked Firefox listing and XPorter's public README and policy. We checked Revealed's public 0.11.4 package from Google's extension update service for permissions, Free access, scan directions, CSV headers and assistant response boundaries. The source notes identify where information comes from.

This is a documentation and code comparison, not a live performance benchmark, comprehensive compatibility test or security audit of the listed products. Where a source did not itemise fields, price or free-format entitlement, the table says so. Limits and listings can change; recheck the source before installing or paying. We use no review scores, invented field totals or universal safest-tool ranking.

What to keep in mind

  • Free offers, paid prices and listings can change after the review date.
  • Privacy descriptions are attributed publisher claims, not independently tested verdicts.
  • No product cap does not establish complete collection or account safety.
  • The Revealed field list is from release code inspection, not a claimed live scan export.
FAQ

Common questions

01Is there a free Twitter followers exporter with no limit?

XPorter and XTract describe uncapped offers, while Revealed Free has no product scan cap and includes CSV. Other tools limit records or downloads. Recheck the current offer and configuration. Unlimited describes a product allowance; X access controls, rate limits or partial collection can still reduce the returned list.

02Can I export followers to Excel?

You can import CSV into Excel, so direct XLSX output is not required for ordinary sorting and filtering. XPorter and XExporter also list XLSX support. Revealed exports profiles as CSV. Use the import dialogue, check encoding and delimiter, and keep long numeric account IDs as text to prevent rounding.

03Is there a Firefox extension for exporting X followers?

The checked Firefox listings include Twitter Exporter by rxliuli and Twitter Follower Exporter by Justin. They have different limits and methods. Confirm publisher identity, current free allowance and format entitlement on the source pages. Revealed is documented here for Chrome; Firefox support has not been established.

04Can an exporter bypass a protected account?

No bypass is established by this comparison. Collection depends on what your signed-in account or the tool's authorised access can retrieve. Some checked products explicitly restrict their exports to public accounts. Revealed operates on accessible lists and does not promise access to protected profiles or unavailable data.

05Do follower exporters upload my data?

Their data flows differ. Several publishers describe local processing, while account checks, diagnostics or integrations can still communicate online. Circleboom documents a hosted export workflow. Read each policy and use the safety checklist. A local-processing claim is not a test of every feature, version or downstream sharing choice.

06What fields are in a follower CSV?

Published lists commonly include handle, name, bio, location, website, counts, verification and account creation date. Exact fields vary. Revealed 0.11.4's serializer includes 31 headers and derived labels; its Email field only extracts an address already visible in the public bio. It does not reveal private login email addresses.

07Will an exporter guarantee that my X account stays unrestricted?

This comparison establishes no such guarantee. X determines access limits and enforces its rules. Pacing, retries and local processing do not constitute approval or remove every account risk. Read the current automation rules and stop rather than bypass access controls when collection is refused or restricted.
